Summer 2016 Awards

Last Sunday marked the final games of the regular season with only the first place position of the powerful Warriors locked in.  With a double header weekend, Goldeneye had control of the final standings, but were only able to split their weekend games while Toe Dragon gave the Warriors their only regulation time loss of the season.  Final standings:

 1st – Warriors

2nd – Brass Bonanza

3rd – Dirty Sprite

4th – Toe Dragon

5th – Goldeneye

For the first round of playoffs, the 9am game will be Toe Dragons vs Goldeneye playing an elimination game to determine who will challenge the Warriors in the 10:40 game.  Game 2 will be Dirty Sprite vs Brass Bonanza for a chance to play in the finals next week. 

The much anticipated and highly desired end of season awards were also determined with a mixture of new and repeat trophy winners.

Congratulations to the Warriors for winning the President’s Trophy with a 10-1-1 winning record.   Repeating from last season are Jeremy Chen with the Vezina Trophy (Best Goalie) and Darren Magpayo with the Bill Masterton Trophy for his perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.   Also coming back for some more awards are Steven Habbous with the King Clancy award of leadership and Idan Rozenblit with the Jack O’All Trades for most versatile player. 

New to the award scene are Jeremy McIntyre as the winner of the GTA Foundation Award, Christian Gomes as the winner of the Selke Trophy (top defensive forward) and Ami Jacobson who was voted Most Improved Player. 

Congratulations to double award winner Jason Crilly for winning both the Wingman Award for most assists and the Norris as best defenceman. 

Finally, with a very impressive and record setting triple award win, Mr Ramin Khaze.  Winner of the Art Ross Trophy for most points, the Rocket Richard trophy for most goals and the Hart Trophy as league MVP.
